Nii Teiko was born in 1978 in Accra – Ghana (West Africa). He is a prolific artist and exerts considerable influence on the contemporary art scene on the African Continent. Nii Teiko has earned applause for his unique and distinctive painting technique, "lineism". With this technique, he uses the pallet knife to apply acrylic or oil paint to create realism or semi-abstract images with either horizontal or vertical lines on the canvas. His paintings always show a striking combination of colors. With a strong emphasis on "lineism", Nii Teiko has created over two decades of visionary painting. He intends for his work to translate into his own unique art history. His paintings are inspired by natural, cultural, political and urban life, as well as historical and socio-economical concerns. Nii Teiko has had numerous solo and joint exhibitions all over Ghana and Burkina Faso. His paintings can be found in homes and galleries all over the world. Nii Teiko obtained a Diploma in Art at GHANATTA College before rising to recognition. His paintings are extremely compelling and interactive for their viewers.
