At the Interstice, presented at the Foundation for Contemporary Art–Ghana from 6 to 31 August 2026, explored the relationship between an exhibition space and its surroundings. TAELON7’s installation connected the gallery interior with the courtyard at the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre in Accra.
The project developed an earlier intervention made in Kumasi in 2025. Alongside the installation, found-material sculptures, photographs and architectural drawings examined how compounds, workshops and markets adapt to everyday needs.
Although the exhibition has closed, its central question remains relevant: can a cultural space be understood as something people continually shape through use? The project treated temporary structures and shared activity as sources of architectural knowledge.
Our perspective: Ghana’s art scene is worth following through its spaces as well as its objects. Artist studios, courtyards and independent institutions can influence who encounters art and how conversations develop around it. This recent project makes that relationship especially tangible.
